The stock market closed on the red mark on the last day of the last trading week. On Friday, October 20, the Sensex fell 231 points to close at 65,397 and the Nifty slipped 82 points to close at 19,542.

Bank Nifty closed 31 points down at 43,723 on Friday. Today, BSE Mid Cap fell by 329 points and closed at 31,880, while BSE Small Cap, which was in the green in the same morning trade, fell by 291 points and closed at 38,198 by the end of trading hours.

The market fell for the third consecutive day last week due to weak trends in global markets and rising crude oil prices. Apart from this, the market was also weakened due to withdrawal of foreign funds.

Kotak Mahindra Bank, IndusInd Bank, Tata Consultancy Services and NTPC were the top gainers in Sensex last week.

Whereas ITC, Tata Steel, Hindustan Unilever, State Bank of India, JSW Steel and Power Grid were the top losers.

The top gainers of Nifty last week were shares of Kotak Mahindra, IndusInd Bank, TCS, SBI Life, NTPC, Nestle, HDFC Bank, and Tata Consumer Products.

Whereas shares of ITC, Tata Steel, Divis Lab, HUL, BPCL, Cipla, Hindalco, Hero MotoCorp, UPL were the top losers.
