According to official figures released on Thursday, the Indian economy expanded 7.8 percent in the June quarter and held onto the title of the fastest-growing major economy in the world.

On the final trading day of the week, the stock market ended in the black. On Friday, the Nifty finished at 19435.30, up 181.50 points, and the Sensex closed at 65387.16, up 555.75 points.  Bank Nifty, which has been decreasing steadily, closed with a positive score. Bank Nifty increased 446 points to settle at 44436 on the last day of trading week. BSE Small-cap gained 276 points to close at 37,420, and BSE Midcap gained 235 points to conclude at 31,435 each.

Top Gainers And Losers

Sensex: The biggest gainers in terms of stock price included NTPC, JSW Steel, Tata Steel, Maruti, Power Grid, IndusInd Bank, Bajaj Finance, and Tech Mahindra.

The top losses were shares of UltraTech Cement, Sun Pharma, Nestle, and L&T.

Nifty: The biggest gainers were shares of NTPC, ONGC, JSW Steel, Tata Steel, Maruti Suzuki, Power Grid Corp, Coal India, Hindalco, and IndusInd Bank.

The biggest losers were Cipla, HDFC Life, Dr Reddy’s Lab, UltraTech Cement, Nestle, Sun Pharma, Divis Lab, Larsen, and HUL.
