The stock market has increased due to positive developments in international markets. For the past several trading sessions, the stock market is closing higher. The BSE Sensex ended the day up 282.88 points, or 0.44 percent, to close at 64,363.79. It increased by 454.29 points, or 0.70 percent, to 64,535.19 throughout the day. The Nifty increased by 97.35 points, or 0.51%, to 19,230.60.
Top Gainer and Top Loser Stocks
Shares of ICICI Bank, Infosys, Titan, Tech Mahindra, Tata Motors, JSW Steel, State Bank of India, and Sun Pharma finished higher in the Sensex pack. The top losers were Tata Steel, IndusInd Bank, Nestle, Bajaj Finance Bank, and Bajaj Finserv.
Rupee Keeps Declining
The local currency depreciated against the US dollar today, opening at 83.22 and reaching as low as 83.29 on the foreign market. It eventually finished against the dollar at 83.28 (provisional), down 6 paise from its previous closing.
