Today was a respite for the market drop that has been ongoing for the past seven days. The Sensex closed at 69,521.69 on Thursday, December 7, down 132.04 points, or 0.19 percent. At 20,901.15, the Nifty finished 36.55 points, or 0.17 percent, down. Bank Nifty, on the other hand, finished at 46,841, up 6 points. BSE Small Cap finished higher at 41,287, up 113 points, while BSE Mid Cap increased 231 points to 35,347.

The best-performing stocks were those of Titan, UltraTech Cement, Power Grid, and NTPC.
On the other hand, the most losing stocks were those of Bharti Airtel, Hindustan Unilever, Tata Steel, and ITC.
Nifty’s Top Gainers And Losers
The leading gainers were UltraTech Cement, Cipla, Grasim, Power Grid Corp., and Adani Port shares.
The biggest declines were the stocks of Bharat Airtel, HUL, ONGC, Apollo Hospital, Tata Steel, Hindalco, LTImidtree, and ITC.
Crude Oil Becomes Expensive
At US$75.05 per barrel, the global oil benchmark Brent crude was up 1.01 percent. Exchange data indicates that on Wednesday, shares valued at Rs 79.88 crore were sold by foreign institutional investors.
